Mont Tremblant

Area: Quebec

Ski Tremblant this winter holiday and experience everything from simple greens to challenging double black runs in what has been named the East Coast #1 Resort.

Among North American resorts, Tremblant is delightfully different: the resort is modern yet
charming, the locals speak French as well as English, and it's superbly accessible with direct
daily flights to Montreal – the "A to B" journey from the UK is the shortest to any of the major
North American ski resorts. Most hotels and apartments have enviable ski-in/ski-out access, and customer convenience has been a paramount consideration in the development and design of Tremblant – it's a superb mix of excellent architecture, quality amenities and guest services. The skiing is highly attractive too, with a good choice of trails that can be reached in minutes from the village base. Tremblant combines Quebecois charm with Canadian friendliness and excellent service. Vive la difference.

The slopes of Grand Manitou offer a variety of skiing arranged over two faces of the mountain:
Versant Sud (Southside) has a choice of green and blue trails from top to bottom, while more
challenging blacks and double blacks (including the 43° "Dynamite" run) can be found on Versant
Nord (Northside). The Parc Gravité terrain park has 18 acres of jumps, curves and pipes for Free riders of any discipline, plus an Olympic calibre super pipe in which to hone your skills. Night skiing is also available under the sodium lights down to the base at Plaza St Bernard. You can sample snowmobiling, dog-sledding through the Laurentian Forest, horse riding, sleigh riding, ice skating, snowshoeing and ice climbing.

After dark Tremblant has a lively après-ski scene, with attractive shops, excellent restaurants (both simple and sophisticated), and a host of hostelries open until the small hours. Most activities focus around Vieux Tremblant down by the lakeshore. Try Le P'tit Caribou – voted last year as "Best Bar in Eastern Canada" – or sample a "Beaver Tail" when you come off the slopes. The cuisine is generally rated among the best and most varied in North America, and deservedly so.
