At Kimberley Ski Resort there's winter holiday fun for the entire family.
Kimberley Ski Resort is located in the heart of the East Kootenays, in the southeast corner of British Columbia, with a fabulous view of the Rocky Mountains. The resort is famous for consistent snow conditions and an excellent variety of terrain from beginner slopes to extreme terrain. The front side of the hill offers long, well-groomed runs, great for warming up. The backside of the mountain (Easter and Tamarack Chairs) offer more steep, treed and bump runs. With 2 terrain parks including the half pipe, there are enough mountains for everyone - 67 runs, 2,465 vertical feet and 1,800 acres of terrain. The Northstar Express quad chair soars 2,500 feet from base to summit in less than nine minutes. Kimberley is an excellent family resort; The Ski & Snowboard School provides a variety of programmes to improve snowboarding or skiing skills for all ages and abilities, whilst Kimberley Kruisers is a junior program designed for children 6 to 12 years old. Need a place for the little ones to go during the day the resort also offers full Daycare so you can enjoy some time on the hills, knowing your loved ones are taken care of. Daycare facilities are licensed for care of children from 18 months to 6 years old.
Winter activities can be found at the Trickle Creek Winter Adventure Park located just across the street from the ski resort, with shuttle service available. This family winter wonderland offers skating (family skating and hockey fun!), snow shoeing, Nordic skiing, campfire evenings with skating, family and children programmes, spa treatments and a warming club house with a small menu. Other Kimberley resort activities include Cross-country at the base, dog sledding, snowmobiling and ice fishing and torchlight parades.
The 103-year-old Bavarian town of Kimberley meshes seamlessly with the new resort and combines old European flair with outstanding hospitality. Home to excellent gift shops, unique restaurants and a variety of pubs and night spots, Kimberley is only a few moments drive from the Ski Resort. The downtown area is called the 'Platzl', is closed off to traffic and looks like a small alpine village. |
