Apex is a fantastic destination for the skier who likes the unique atmosphere of a smaller winter holiday resort.
Located in a cosy village nestled at the base of a spectacular mountain, in the heart of the Okanogan Valley, Apex Mountain Resort remains one of the hidden gems of Canadian skiing. Apex is a full service resort with quality snow, incredible terrain, and friendly people. With an average temperature of -4º C, Apex receives about 600 cm of dry "Okanogan" powder each season.
The ski area is small but varied with 67 runs to challenge or pamper any skill level. All levels of skiers are welcomed at the 1112-acre resort, but intermediate skiers have the best choice of pistes with 48 per cent of the runs. The resort does however have an excellent beginner's area with its own lift set back from the main ski runs allowing an inspirational experience for the novice on gentle rolling slopes. Non-skiing alternatives include: outdoor hot tubs, sauna, outdoor hockey and ice-skating rink, snowshoeing, a lit adventure ice-skating loop (one kilometre), sleigh rides and snowmobile tours.
One of the advantages of being a small, compact resort is that all amenities are located centrally. Basic shopping needs at the village are provided by: The Mountain Shop, which stocks skis and snowboards, clothing, equipment and souvenirs; a rental and repair shop; and The Trading Post, a general store with bakery. With 9 different restaurants, there is ample variety for relaxing with your morning coffee to fine dining. The famous Gun barrel Saloon and the Three:Thirty Grill will look after your Après needs. |
